Council house issue

    Hi

    My friend has been living in rented council house for the past ten years which entitles her to 30% off the market value of the house if she were to purchase now from the council. However she wants to get married but is concerned if she will lose this 30% entitlement as her husband would have to be made tenant and new contract would have to be drawn up with the council. Also she is considering the shared ownership option. Can anyone advise on both issues?

    I imagine she would be OK as she would still have been a tenant. However, she really needs to have this clarified by the council.
