Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All,

I am a keen runner and want to start bike training for a duathalon.
I need suggestions on a Road Bike - in terms of budget around 300/400 euro but can stretch a little further.

All and any help is much appreciated!

    Cheers

Get a secondhand road bike with that budget.

    duathlon - no second a :)

Second hand only at that budget I am afraid, can get a great bike though if you can do some repairs and keep an eye on the club sites.

Bought one of these about three weeks ago since they also have 20% off - http://www.halfords.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_11101_catalogId_15551_productId_786805_langId_-1_categoryId_212536 - great so far, light and fast!

For 300 plus, I'd go to Halfords had a Carrera and was happy with it at the time.
If I'm not mistaken most Duathlons cycles are short so you don't need a top quality bike unless you going for the win. Went in a few Duathlons over the summer and all the competition seemed to be on the runs, cycling was quite poor apart from the top competitors.
Need to cycle in a low gear to match your running pace or your legs will go numb when you start the second run.
