How do people rate them? Was thinking of one for my .243

What model is recommended if any?

I had the 2.5 10x56 which was brilliant in low light, the only reason I changed was I prefer higher magnification and fine illum reticle.
I still was able to neck deer with it.

I am a big fan of Nikon as they are keenly priced

    E. Fudd,
I have one or two, primarily used as glass for shooting targets inside of 300yards. They are fantastic and one of the best scopes out there based upon price/performance.

I purchased the Prostaff with the BDC reticle. I particularly like the circles that are not filled in. You can use the color of your target to fill them in and know the correct range.

What's yer game: big, small, target, or general merriment?

i got a 3-9 x 50 prostaff, reasonably priced, pretty good in low light- can't find fault with it...yet.

I think that Fieldmaster (Busckmasters in the states) and Monarch 3 have best price/value ration from Nikon. Monarch E lack the FFP and are a bit dim compared to top European competitors. Monarch X on the other hand is reasonably priced but for true tactical scope it lacks FFP reticle and illumination (4-16x50 model). In all other regards it is a great scope.
