    The road I cycle along to get to work, Nutley Park, has many of these trees along its length. At this time of year, there are hundreds of these conker/chestnut type things that fall off the trees - they have a hazelnut type nut inside, but from what I have googled, hazelnuts look different on and off the tree....
    Can anyone help my curiosity and tell me what they are, and if there is anything that you can do with them, in terms of cooking or....
