    They're both wrong in parts....what sense is there in throwing already caught Bass back into the sea, dead, due to IRISH regulations not EU ones....and the EU fleets can fish bass from the same waters??

    It's horse sh*t.

    Your man says it's the end of bass if the restrictions are lifted?

    What a load of rubbish. If things were so bad for bass, the foreign fishermen wouldn't be allowed fish tehm either.

    The only thing he's worried about is the availabilty of stock for tourist angling....but if EU fleets are landing them (in larger numbers than our fleet could physically manage) it's just so much pissing in to the wind.
    Obvioiusly a hotel group or tourist oard lobby angle (sorry) there somewhere...
