He just said he isnt going to, why do you have to tell him not to??

It actually annoys me twice. It annoys me when the caller says "I'm not going to mention his name", and then it annoys me when Joe says "no dont".

There is no need to say "I'm not going to mention his name" unless you have been asked or prompted to say it.

It irritates me.
