Why are they called Fire Engines?

Why not just fire trucks or something?

    Fire Tenders

Anyone know Joes address? We should start a vendetta and keep calling the fire brigade to his house and see how quickly we can run through his 400,000 pay check.

Stupid bint, she's in Enniscorthy which has about three tenders.

Doesn't a proportion of our taxes go to pay for the Emergency Services? More double taxation from our wonderful councils. Charging for bins was the thin end of the wedge, soon water charges and now fire callouts, all to be paid out from money in our pockets *which has had PAYE paid out on it before we get it*.

    Bah

Someone should update the Dublin City Council website
How the Fire Brigade is Financed

Dublin City Council spends approximately €110.5m on Dublin Fire Brigade each year. This is partly funded by the fire charges that are paid on businesses that experience a fire.

Fire charges to do not apply to home owners.
