    A question on the rent allowance thing - if the rent allowance is dropped are the renters allowed pay the difference themselves?

    Yes, and many or most already do if they're renting at a rate set above the maximum allowance for the size of their residence.

    No. They have to negotiate rent downwards to come into line with new limits or they are cut off completely.

    The council workers need to cop on, they are lucky they aren't just being fired, they have no work now as bin men, its a reality of this country. Yet they are moaning that they still WILL have jobs by being redeployed. Oh Jebus I reckon my head may just explode today :mad:
