Need a 5ghz wireless PCI adapter - any recommendations?

its all in the title really. PCI or PCIeX1 is ok. small as possible as it'll be snug between 2 6950's.

and no, wired isnt an option at the moment but ive got a 5ghz signal so that should be ok.

im on UPC 100mbps and want as close to that as humanly possible.

also budget as low as seems fair.:o

To be honest, pretty much any wireless n one would do. You see a few with issues with 64-bit OSs, but there's only a few. Most of them are above 100Mbps as well. Some of the more expensive ones are dual band and will work on 2.4GHz and 5GHz simultaneously, but unless you're transferring to other PCs in the network, I don't see you needing that kind of bandwidth for while.

If money is low, just get something cheap

i dont want to risk homeplugs cause im tight on cash and if it doesnt work well id have to suffer till i get a bit of cash again. also im not sure the wiring in my house is very good.

my housemate has the TP-Link TL-WN951N and it doesnt pick up the 5ghz network in my house (running a netgear WNDR3300 which puts out a 2.5 and 5ghz simultaneous network and the PC is literally 4m away at the moment and still doesnt pick it up) so im going to try avoid TP-link if possible.

ive a server PC wired to the router thats sharing 3.5Tb+ of files that i want to be able to access and modify on the fly so ill probably need the dual radio job.



so any updated recommendations?

ive no space for a full length PCIe card because ill be throwing my GTX460 into my rig as a physX card alongside my 6950's so it'll need to be PCI or PCIe1

I don't think there are full length PCI-E cards, I was just referring to PCI-E x1 over PCI.

The prices of the high end one start hitting homeplug prices anyway.
