Canada Under 35 Visa, how to get permanent residency???

    My visa will expire in Nov 2011 and I have applied for an extension and hope to get it soon. I want to keep my options open and apply for permanent residency/ citizenship. Anyone here already done this? Or can anyone offer any advice? The CIC website is a disaster to get information. If I apply for permanent residency, will I need to hire an immigration lawyer and what kind of fees can I expect to pay? I'm in Calgary and if you could recommend someone that would be great.
