Musical form question, plz help!

    Hi everybody, I can't remember how to definite divisions and sub-divisions for music. Let's say the musical form of AB is 2 divisions, ABA is 3 divisions, AABA is 4 divisions and so on...... or it depends on how each section ends? I tried to google it but no answers. Plz help! Thanks!
