This has been an absolute nightmare. I've current drivers for my built in wireless card (intel), no necessary ports blocked on my firewall, running WinXP with the wireless card set to its highest power etc... and a clear signal.

About 9/10 I try to connect I get a ''Limited or No resources available'' error and an explanation that the network didn't assign me an IP address.

I'd use eduraom if could, but in trying to install the software (SecureW2 EAP) it gets to about 90% and then gives me an error.

    ''Failed setting SSID configuration (7)''

The software installs fine, but trying to log onto the network gives me a ''couldn't find a security cert'' error.

    Any thoughts?

At peak times, in the past, I've seen the system for assigning IP addresses (DHCP) running out of addresses. The Library can be particularly bad on WaveLAN, so Eduroam is preferable once you get it going. Not much we can do about it as users except try later - it's a IT Services issue, if that's the problem.

One thing you might want to try is: use an Ethernet cable. The instructions on how to do it are here.

Death has this much to be said for it:
You don’t have to get out of bed for it.
    Wherever you happen to be
    They bring it to you—free.
