Just a thought I've had recently.

I've been looking at picking up a new PSU. The one that's in mind is a Be Quiet! one that I can't seem to find (for a reasonable price) anywhere but HWVS, but the shipping cost makes it pretty bad value.

So the idea: People post what they're looking at ordering, where they're living, and when they'll be ordering, and anyone else looking to pick up stuff - whether a whole build or a couple of bits and bobs - could throw their stuff in as well.

Guidelines would have to be set down, etc. but I find it a nice idea, given that a lot of what's prohibitive (and sometimes useful) about HWVS is their flat-rate shipping.

Thoughts?

(I'm not even sure if this is allowed, but I couldn't find anything in the charter that would indicate it wouldn't be, apologies if it indeed isn't.)

Kind off off topic but what type of PSU are you looking for? This PSU has been mentioned here a good few times and it seems like good value

I need a wifi card but being in limerick makes it a little harder. Still though, count me in for ASAP.

if you have any advice, I'm looking to get as close as possible to 100mbps and ill also be moving files around my network to and from my server.

my router puts out 2.4 and 5ghz simultaneously so I'd like to take advantage of that if it makes it better.

budget uptown €60 I suppose. PCI or PCIex1.

I think the "wireless-N" products are best for the high speed. You may want to double check that out first, though.

Thanks, but that's not the PSU I'm looking for. It's a few series old. Those are the Straight Power E5s, HWVS has the E9s in stock.

Works out maybe a tenner cheaper than HWV. By the way, why that brand?

RX-7000 700W 15.5dB(A) Ultra-Quiet Modular PSU is €121 with €16 shipping to Ireland. Have bought off QuitePC in the past, and they are good to deal with. Picked the above PSU as it was 650W'ish and was "quite".

Simply because it's the quietest PSU around, other than BeQuiet's Dark Power Pro line.

Cooler Master's Silent Pro M line are quite a bit cheaper, but not as quiet, and as far as I know, Nexus PSUs, while quiet, can be pretty spotty in terms of power output.

I don't absolutely have to go with the BeQuiet PSU, it's more just what got me thinking of combining HWVS shipping in the first place. Either way, I won't be ordering it for at least a week.

Edit: Nice find on the DPP PSU though. I was searching for "be quiet" versus "bequiet" which apparently made the difference.

Serephucus, have you looked at Enermax's PSUs? Last time I was looking for a quiet PSU, they came out on top.

I have, yeah. They're very nice PSUs, but very expensive also. Their Modu87+ 700W for example is about €180 from Amazon.
