Anti-Spammer Measures

    With the recent surge of spammers it got me thinking of how to stop them in their tracks, is it time to introduce new measures to prevent spammers?

    eg. CAPTCHAs, 2week wait from registration before you can first post, block certain countries from registering users, bots that recognise spammy posts etc.

    An illness has me nocturnal, I see a lot of RWC streams spam, and a lot of "My boyfriend will like this?" seemingly Chinese spam.

    No need for suspiciousness, i was just idly thinking to myself how you would stop them at first instance, as I try to report as many as I can.

    We're doing our best but we have to be fair to all.
    Seeing as you already have 2 forum bans in your brief tenure here, are you saying that we're lax and we've missed something obvious? Should this thread be in prison? :confused:

    We have our methods, but obviously they're not always foolproof. We do have a pretty good detection rate though.

    Yes, I developed the TP-flowchart method that is one of the many methods available to Admins currently. The overall process that governs the TP-flowchart is what I call the "Suspected Shill or Duplicate Account process", as above, not the only method used by Admins for shills/duplicate accounts.

    I love the fact the May doesn't sleep and is able to keep posting pretty much 24/7.
    If I could post 24/7 365 days a year I would be so happy.
