Possible to paint plastic?

Hi all. Forgive me if this is a silly question, but is it possible to paint plastic? And if so, is it costly/easy to do? I want to get one of these clothes rails, but they only come in black, grey & pink but I would prefer a white finish.

try e.s.p,you can get it in any diy shop, bonds paint to anything,no need for primer etc.20E it costs but you will have it for years as its liquid and you wipe it on before painting on finish coat.:) magic stuff!

ESP is great as mentioned above. However i am baffled why such a small amount of plastic is a problem. Have you tried plastic heaven "IKEA"

Anyway...To get a propper finish you will need to take the rail apart. I would suggest after applying the esp you spray the pastic in your prefered colour. It might chip around the wheels though.
