    Hi guys,

Does anyone have any pet Axolotl Salamanders?
They seem to be pretty rare but you can buy them in the Pet Palace pet shop on Parnell Street.

I am considering buying one but I would love to hear from someone who has some of them already.

    What are they like?
If you have them, where did you buy them?

    Cheers.

Interested in this too. The other half has wanted one for *ages*.

I know they had one out in Kinsealy Pet Store recently too. From past experience I've found them to be very good.

Very informative site about them here: http://www.axolotl.org/

    Where'd you get them?

I hope you've got them in a large tank? Apparently they fight a lot otherwise!

Will you be taking them out of your pond during the winter months?

How do you stop them climbing out of the pond?

What do you feed them on? Bearing in mind that there are fish in the pond too

You stated that they are too big to be bothered by the fish. Are they big enough for them to bother the fish?

They have been in the pond since the spring of 09,never taken out since. They were about 2ins when they were put in
They are aquatic so they wont come on to dry land.
The pond is well established So theres lots of live food in there.I give em earth worms too from time to time and they prob eat some fish pellets. There are Koi Carp and golden Rudd sharing the pond so they more than likely would eat some fry from the Rudd.
