Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hitler would generally be the name people most say.

Scary thing is, there is probably dozens of people that trump Hitler in the evil department. Just not as notorious.

REally? Sounds to me like she wouldn't have supported a communist. Maybe you are thinking Pinochet.

No her time in power was complex, what she did do she ruthlessly pursued British interests, no matter the devil.

I do admire her, but I acknowledge she got a long wrong as well. But not the thread forum for this discussion

Ah, I just read Pilger's piece on that. They opposed Vietnam taking over Cambodia. There was hardly any ideological point of commonality there.

Whats never really mentioned about Pol Pot is where his ideology came from. The general left wing view is that American bombers bombed the place and then you get Pol Pot. But that doesn't happen anywhere else. Pol Pot was educated at the Sorbonne, and his ideas of Year Zero were ideas of Marxism at the time - and of some maoists still in the academy in France. Althusser etc.

Is a little known fact that once they were ousted from power the sas were training them to attempt to stage another coup, even after all of the horrors emerged. He was well protected up until his death
