Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Teacher in trouble!!

    Hi guys,

I am a third year B.Ed student and will be starting 5 weeks of teaching practice next week,my class is junior infants which will be a challenge to say the least and I will be inspected at least 3 times during this period.

Each week needs a theme and all subjects need to be intergrated in that theme, I was wondering if anyone had ideas for lessons in english, irish, art, drama, music, history, geography associated with the theme of HALLOWEEN as this is my chosen theme for week 1??

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, bearing in mind everthing I do should be fun and creative to capture the infants attention.

    Thanks!! :)

Leave Hallow'een to closer to midterm. Take a broad theme of autumn for the period, then start with colours/hibernation/falling leaves/ for the first week?Have a look on the forum on educationposts.ie for thematic approaches.

    :D

I'm in the same boat! But I won't be having infants.

As byhookorbycrook said, check out the forum at www.educationposts.ie. Do you know anybody who did Home TP in the last few years? You could get some plans off them.

And I'd hardly say 'teacher in trouble' yet! There's a full week to go before the first week starts, and even then we'll only be observing for most of the time. And there's midterm too!

    Best of luck.
