[Oct 20-23] UCD Air Open I 2011

UCD Rifle Club is pleased to announce that we will hold the UCD September Air Open 2011, on Saturday 24th of September 2011 at UCD Rifle Club Range, UCD, Belfield.

This is an open competition for 10 metre Air Rifle and Air Pistol.

Competitions:

• Air Rifle 60 shot
• Air Rifle 40 shot
• Air Pistol 60 shot

Class prizes will also be presented depending on numbers in each class (based on the first 40 competition shots).

Entry fee: €15 (€10 students/juniors)

Pre-booking is essential.

Due to a clash with the PR60 Nationals being held in Midlands we are moving the UCD September Air Open back one day, from Sunday 25th of September to Saturday 24th.

Congratulations to everyone who took part in UCD Air Open I, which was held Thursday 20th and today Sunday 23rd of October.

It was a great turnout with 54 shooters taking part over the two days and four out of the five details completely full!

Peter Friend put in a fantastic result of 568 to win the air pistol competition with Caroline O'Brien continuing on from her success in the Welsh Air Open with and impressive 545 to take second place and John O'Brien taking third.

In the air rifle 60 shot competition, WTSC's Paul O'Boyle took the title by a single point margin over DFST's Ray Kane who took second place with Terry Wearen also from DFST taking third.

In the air rifle 40 shot competition DURC's Aisling Miller took first place with WTSC's Susan Cunningham taking second and UCD's Claire Leyden taking third.

This is a fantastic start to the competition year and long may it continue
