Connecting Passive Speakers to PC

Can it be done? I have a pair of JPW mini monitors, nice sounding bookshelf speakers, and they would be sweet for playing my music when working on the PC. Is there such a thing as an Amplifier expansion card that will power these speakers?

This might be a bit ghetto, but you could do what you want with somethign like this:

Could be powered by USB (You would need to cut open and strip a usb cable)
