    Hi,

The Aer Lingus credit card handling fee is €6 each way (€12 for a return trip).
Does anyone know if you can use a Visa Debit card to avoid this charge ?

In the past, one could use a Visa electron card as I used one in 2009 from Halifax Ireland but thats a long time ago & Halifax have since closed.

Is there any way to avoid this "handling charge"

Any infos wold be appreciated ?

    Terrie.

The Aer Lingus site lists the Visa Electron card as being exempt from fees.
As far as I understand Visa Electron has been rebranded as Visa Debit ?
Can anyone confirm that a Visa debit card would be exempt from fees with Aer Lingus ?

Handling Fee: Charges as follows: €6 per person or equivalent, per flight. Flights originating in the USA/Canada, Infant Bookings and Bookings using Visa Electron are not subject to the handling fee.

Not sure if any Irish bank issues Visa Electron cards, however, they are the only card that doesn't incur the handling fee on Aer Lingus.
