Disaster preparedness, a recent lesson

    There are always valuable lessons to be learned from disaster situations that have occurred either at home or abroad. For example, we have all learned lessons from the last two winters with decent amounts of snow and very low temperatures.

    But on a bigger scale, I think some very interesting lessons can be learned from the Japanese earthquake (and to a lesser extent the tsunami, as you'd be lucky just to survive that occurrence).

    But here are a couple of blogs dealing with shortages post disaster in Tokyo, there are some fascinating insights into how people react (and cultural differences are accepted) to being in "survival" mode.

    Milk, bread, rice, noodles, gasoline, batteries, toilet paper are the main items that folks are buying tons of.
