I can't answer that question myself as I have no idea about direct applications.

However, from looking at the GMIT website, all the information you need to know about direct applications, can be found here:

Yeah, It does suggest that on the link I gave you.
That's what I assumed it was all about tbh.

I think your best bet is to contact the college, and ask exactly what is required of you.
