    Has the dog been brought to the vets and scanned for a microchip? If it's chipped it should contain the owners details.

    By law you are meant to contact the pound/dog warden if you find a stray dog. But bear in mind the pound will only technically keep the dog for 5 days after this if they have no room they could put the dog to sleep. But you can keep the dog at the location it was found and still inform the pound/dog warden.

    Also have you contacted Drogheda Animal rescue? Either their home page or their volunteers are quite active on their facebook page. There's a good network of supporters throughout Drogheda who may know if the owners are looking for it.
