    Coolest thing about duikers?

    They are partially carnivorous!

They often complement their diet with carrion, and small animals like birds, rodents and amphibians they hunt. In captivity they are fed with both vegetable foods AND dog food.

Surprisngly enough a lot of strict herbivores are thought to compliment their diet with animal protein!

Some red deer on the scottish isle of rum have aprantly been seen eating live birds!

Indeed, it seems that where food is not nutritious enough or hard to find, deer go carnivorous too. But under natural conditions they are nowhere as predatory as duikers.
