    Love this show, I think the addition of the Quantity Surveyor was badly needed this season. Though saying that tonights show is going way off budget - the client keep adding to it. There are some good characters !

    you do know that architects get paid on a % of the budget (usually 10-15%) - no wonder Dermo has no probs pushing the boat out or even better if the client does...

    I doubt that they (clients) are not paying something. otherwise he would be losing out €10k per €100k budget and can't see RTE paying him that per episode... don't know what the deal is tbh, maybe the clients get a discount for effectively making the TV content.

    My favourite show and Dermot is great, I love the fact they show his mistakes.
    The only thing is all the houses are looking the same. Lots of glass boxes really.

    jesus! they'd surely want to gut that structure and rebuild from the ground up, and for €160k?

    phew, at this stage we should nearly take bets on how much dermot is gonna WANT TO go over budget! :D

    "contingency fund"? lol, sounds more like they done a whiparound of the production staff! :D

    i'd say €150k over budget... and that was just before i overheard there about the drainage issues! oh boy, how much is an arm and a leg? :D

    that answers that question, lol, i hadnt even noticed til my wife just asked me there "are they brothers or what?", i just thought they were business partners after buying that property as an investment... :o
