Love this show, I think the addition of the Quantity Surveyor was badly needed this season. Though saying that tonights show is going way off budget - the client keep adding to it. There are some good characters !

think we can keep this quote for all the episodes

    not, a, hope!

honestly, if an architect cant even follow the "measure twice, cut once" rule, it just reminds me of when i was doing mechanical drawing back in secondary school and we used do "plan, elevation, end view", and if anything was even a millimeter out, our mech. drawing teacher would bust a kidney! lol :D

that answers that question, lol, i hadnt even noticed til my wife just asked me there "are they brothers or what?", i just thought they were business partners after buying that property as an investment... :o
ha I just pictured that scene in American Beauty when the two lads coming knocking on the door of the retired GI Joe bearing gifts.

These shows are so annoying when they pretend that there is a crisis, you may recall a series that Dermuid Galvin did and he was revamping the kids hospital in city centre (name eludes me at the mo) and there was a massive panic that they couldnt find a specialist aquarist that could build the tanks, - the whold project rested on finding sucha person, bad editing guys as the opening meeting showed Kealan from Seahorse aquariums at the very first meeting, and in fact every thing was well under control....... anyways theres soem useless info for ya

    right lads
    channel 4
    grand designs
    real architect

Dermot Bannon is a clown, He turns up without drawings then draws sketches on napkins. That's not talent. I've worked for architects that are the real deal, real geniuses with vision and they would not dare to insult a client with that level of inpetitiude. In architecture your drawings are your currency not your artsy fartsy BS. Bannon is Ronan Keating pretending to be Elton John. One trick pony with a talent for getting paid.

If I had to say what I admire in the guy it would be his sheer gall.

I thougt he did a great job with that house. It s really fab. I just adore the hall tiles they really were beautifiul.

I thought the girl was very funny, a bit spoilt perhaps, but sure more luck to them.

I thought I was the only one who noticed that. I've seen 3 or 4 shows now and they're all the same. White walls everywhere, flat roof extensions with lots of glass. South facing gardens must be a requirement to get on the show. How the hell can he get away with doing the same thing all the time??

    Anyone watching tonight?

Dermot might have problems with this one. He can't really put his square glass flat roof cube on the back of this bungalow ;)

    Let's see how he goes!

Btw I think an hour is too long for this program. It's no Grand Designs.
