Simple hand held device

    Hey Guys

    Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this.

    Basically im looking for a simple hand held device that would record 2 bits of information..

    A tag number and a Quantity relating to the tag number. And say record a total of 100 different records that could later uploaded to a pc.

    Does anyone know if there anything this simple out there or how one would go about making one?

    A stock take gun that retailers use will do that. They arnt cheap tough.. It will record bar code and give numbers of each..
