Scratched Glass

    Hi Folks,

I was hoping to get some advice from your goodselves.
I have a Fossil watch thats been badly scratched on the glass. I originally thought it was condensation trapped inside the glass but on closer inspection its lots of tiny scratches which leave it slightly foggy looking. I have no idea how it happened!

Its no longer covered under warranty, but I was hoping someone here might know where I could get the glass repaired or replaced? I've already tried the gentleman on Abbey street but no joy.

I realise it may cost more than the watch is worth, but it has great sentimental value.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks
    z

Is it a sapphire crystal or a plexiglass crystal?
If it's a foggy looking scratch then it must be acrylic/plastic to get scuffed.

Have a look at Polywatch. 2-3 minutes and some elbow grease and it works wonders.
Goes for about £5 on ebay.

You can even use Brasso at a pinch. Works well for light fogging/scuffs.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

toothpaste works well too. Silvo (brassos less abrasive cousin) is good for the finishing :D
