I know this is released in the USA, Not sure about here. Only downside is no Mic jack on the wheel/controller.

Seen that one Paddy, think you can get it on amazon.I'm looking for a more conventional wheel though, with pedals.

Those are outrageously priced for what they are, considering they don't have pedals either. saw them for 59.99 in hmv yesterday.

that 'speed wheel' is possibly the most retarded thing iv ever seen. a dfgt only costs 100 quid so id love to know how the came up with 60 for that.

There are a couple of the Official wheels for sale on Adverts at the moment. Not sure if they have been sold yet but at the asking prices they soon will be.

Anyway,if you are in no great hurry, keep an eye on Adverts.ie as these come up for sale regularly enough.

I picked up one of those new speed wheels today. I thought it was going to be rubbish, but surprise surprise it's very good. I've owned expensive wheels in the past and compared to them it gets 85% of the way, certainly it's great for a quick blast. It also beats storing and connecting up the full wheel set. Tested it on Forza 3 and F1 2011.

Are these rechargeable? I'm getting a bit curious about them - but I'd like to try before I buy.

Not rechargeable but not hard on batteries and very very good I got one for 45 in game yesterday when I picked up forza 4! Mind you have to buy the game to get it for 45 otherwise it's 55!

It's 44 on Gamestop, delivered a day early in a HUGE box you could fit 5 full cats in. Bought one for mulitplayer since I've the original racing wheel and it's surprisingly awesome. Wouldn't recommend paying more than 45 for it but it's a really nifty alternative to a control pad.

I've been using one of these for the last few days now and it really is the business.

    Pros:

Light weight - thought it would be heavier.
Button layout - perfect for changing gears as i play in manual...and in forza 4 you can map buttons how you wish.
Great for fine control of the cars - I always found you were waving the control stick back and forward through right and left to get the exact line you wanted but with this it's just hold the angel and you go through the curve perfect. Great for the oval tracks!
Backward compatible - Used it with PGR4 and had great craic
Not set up required - From previous experience the full race wheels are a nightmare to get set up right with height of coffee tables and where you put the pedals.

    Cons:

No headset port - but i suppose some people are wireless or you can use kinect
Not rechargable - haven't changed the batteries yet though and it has three bars on the dashboard guide pop up
No bumpers so it's touch and go if you can't map buttons in a particular game

Overall - Weighing it all up it's well worth the extra few euro over a wireless controller. Would recommend to any racing game fan.

Well, I went for the new Microsoft wireless speed wheel and I have to say I'm impressed. Argos are doing a great deal at the moment - buy Forza 4 and get it for half price, so for Forza 4 and the speed wheel its only €74.99

Cool. Try the Mercedes 190E, it's a blast with the wheel.
