Fitting rear mudguard

Hi. I need a help with fitting rear mudguard on an giant escape ladies bike. It's a clip on mud guard but not sure where it clips on to, as it keeps sliding off each time I try to clip it on. I'm very possibly clipping it on to the wrong area. Any suggestions? Thanks.
