    I want one
    http://www.jedi-sports.de/product_info.php/info/p3663_Look-K-O-Power-Bundle-CS600X-Set-2012.html

this part here interests me: "A pedal-based system also offers direct measurement of left-right specific power output. That could be useful in correcting pedaling inefficiencies and imbalances, or in training to recover from injury, says Polar's bicycle product manager and former pro racer Joona Lauka"
There's already a thread somewhere on the Polar system. The great thing for me about the pedal based systems is they should be easily transferrable to a track bike.

On the measurement of left/right power output, this is already available on the Wattbike trainer, and they have one of those down at Sundrive;)

Of course, that ad is showing a 4 month delivery time, which may still be a bit optimistic

    hahaha

    $1,499.00

Much as it pains me to say this, a recumbent design might be more ergonomic.

I think that ledge subsequently collapsed - I'm not saying the two events are linked, only that it happened.

When you wrap bartape do you do the right side clockwise and the left side counterclockwise? A couple of videos in youtube confused me even more..

Right side counterclockwise I think, always wrap in towards the bike.

Now I'm confused, I hope that's right? Anyway, it should be wrapped so that it is self tightening as your hands rotate on the bars.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

I would have said that you always wrap "away" from the bike because that's the direction your hands would usually twist on the bars. So, eh, clockwise on the right, counter on the left.

But then I'm really bad at wrapping bar tape. Like, atrocious. Can't get the ends clean at all. So what would I know?

Thanks for confusing me more :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,718 ✭✭✭AstraMonti

That's the "correct" way, isn't it? (It's totally coincidental that a cute girl is wrapping the tape  )

Heard a commotion outside the front of the house. Went to see what was going on and saw Eamonn Fennell and MD McAuley outside with Sam Maguire

I usually wrap tape from the stem out to the ends. That way I don't have to mess around with a finishing strip. I wrap forwards on the tops and then reverse direction after the brake levers (IIRC) to wrap outwards on the drops.

Curious to know what bar too.
Maybe you were not in a fit state to cycle home and this was the cycling equivalent of taking someone's car keys off them ;)
