Hi guys,

I'm new to the gardening forum...I was wondering if any of you could help me.

I have a few questions about grow lights. I'm hoping to grow some herbs indoors, basil, chives, thyme, parsley etc. I've done all the research on the actual growing part, but struggling to find out what the story is with grow bulbs.

I'm looking to use CFL because they are smallest and use less energy, but I can't figure out what to get. I've seen these ones which are specific for growing:

But the smallest 125w are still a little big for what I want.

I came across this video recently where this guy looks to be growing herbs with a standard domestic 65w CFL, is this possible? Do you need the big 125w grow specific CFLs to grow small plants like herbs or can a standard one do the trick?

PS...I'm not growing weed or any other illegal plants. I'm researching a product and having serious trouble being taken seriously by anybody because they assume I'm a stoner or up to no good!
