GoBus to the Airport

Not sure is this the right place to ask this but anyway ...

My flight leaves Dublin Airport at 21:15 on Friday night. I'm getting GoBus from Galway direct to the airport. One says that it'll arrive in the airport at 19:30. Is that leaving too little time if I've already checked in online?

I was just looking at the bus times and it's a direct bus but it stops on the quays at 19:15. Would it make the airport in 15 minutes at that time on a Friday evening.

For a flight at 21:15 even if you arrived at the airport at 20:15 you would be fine (providing your only bringing on hand luggage)

It will do it in under 15 minutes if it takes the port tunnel. Where on the quays does the bus stop?

1 hr 45 mins should be plenty of time in the airport. Just make sure you head to your gate as soon as you can. DOn't dilly dally in the shops or anything, coz if you are flying out of the new Terminal 2, the walk to your gate can take forever.

Thanks guys. Not sure where the bus stops on the quays. If it's like Citylink then it's along Bachelors Walk.

I'll be checking in online and only have hand luggage so I'll get that bus I think.

As you will have checked in, you need to account for the latest time for boarding (which might be before actual departure) and the time to get there from the bus stop, allowing for security, delays, etc.

Allowing for no traffic or traffic lights, Dublin-Dublin Airport will take you more than 15 minutes. However, the bus company will likely have spare tiem built into the Galway-Dublin leg, not the Dublin-Dublin Airport leg.

Thanks Victor for that info. According to the boarding pass, the gate closes at 20:45 so that gives me an hour of a window.

As posted above - realistically if you have checked in online, then at that time of the evening the airport will be quiet enough.

If you get there for 20:15 you will have oodles of time to spare.
