Oh its just one, its currently in the freezer freezing but so far it looks good. Its donut peaches and blackberries an the cream element is coconut milk :)

I used this recipe but used peaches instead of figs.

    http://www.greenkitchenstories.com/fig-coconut-blackberry-ice-cream/

Also, theres a new brand of ice cream called Kono (I think?) its diary and egg free but all the flavours currently contain honey, however they said they have a no honey version in the works.

IS that the irish one? nobo? made from coconut milk?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,463 ✭✭✭loveisdivine

Ah yes thats it, nobo! Coconut and avocado I believe.

To be honest it seemed a bit silly to go through the process of making a range of dairy and egg free ice creams, then add honey! You've wiped out an entire potential market with one ingredient that would have been easy enough to change. Doesn't seem logical to me, but then again I'm not a commercial ice cream maker :p

That's the first thing I thought, They should remove honey and brand it as vegan. would increase their market straight away.

Planning where to go a for a meal is hard when one of you is vegan and the other is allergic to wheat, dairy, soy, onion and garlic.

The first time I had edamame I thought you were supposed to eat the pod as well :o

We're going for sushi. We both love sushi but I don't think there's anywhere else she can really eat. She has more restriction on her diet but they're the main ones. She used to wonder how I could be vegan, now she says she could that easily compared to what she can eat now. It's call the Fodmap diet. The list of 'bad' foods is quite long.

Ye sushi is a good idea actually, I had no idea till recently that the tofu 'nigiri' things are vegan.

My aunt sometimes compares my veganism to her gluten intolerance, she said before it must be the same for you, having to buy all these specialised products that are dearer. It's not really like that at all for me haha

Has to be years ago at this stage. I would be interested if I was at home, I could be home some time during the summer. But anyways I'd say even if I wasn't Tar would be? tar? :) Some food or a pot luck picnic or something would be cool. Where were you thinking of, Dublin or somewhere else?

We're hoping to roder a pizza tonight and i was looking at pizza hut and I came across this on their UK site - http://www.pizzahut.co.uk/Delivery/menu/pdf/Dietary_Requirements_Delivery.pdf

If somebody wouldn't mind having a glance to see if you come to the same conclusion as me?
Which is basically that with regards to pizza, if I ordered a basic veggie pan with no cheese it would be vegan? On the list, the only thing in the pan ingredients that has a "no" for "suitable for vegans?" is the cheese, right?

Obviously theres the risk of cross contamination, but I accept that.

Edit - the link opens a 6 page PDF.

Edit again! - I've now found the full ingredients list and I'm certain that aslong as I order without cheese (I'll add tofutti at home :)) then I'm good.

David Haye's gone vegan. Not into boxing but having a well known athlete who's trying to make a comeback go vegan could be interesting.

Was watching The Great British Menu. They were competing to cook a banquet for D Day veterans and one of the chefs cooked pigeon as his main course. He chose pigeon as a homage to all the homing pigeons used to send coded messages in the war. I know those who choose to eat meat sees things differently but I really cannot wrap my head around honouring something by eating it.

I had chocolate tart from where I'm working this week (and hopefully will be working in after this week and all). Holy moly so good but I only ate about a sixth of the slice. And I love my chocolate but my god was it rich. So so yum.

I used the shampoo before and found it awful, left loads of residue in my hair so it was still greasy after washing. I'd buy the conditioner again though, have picked it up for €2 in Euro shops before.
