JJ just short, under the bar from half way line.

Ireland waking up a bit now, bit more possession and territory.

One of France's big name players is off, a centre.

Won't play in either Chrome or Firefox on Debian. TG4 clearly hate open source :'(

    France's 7 nobbled, off.

French 7 gone off injured as well.

France's scrum coming under pressure now. Can't believe I typed that.

We just won a kickable penalty by destroying the next French scrum.

Another chance for JJ, 3 POINTS.

I'm seriously conflicted between wanting to Furlong get game time for Leinster seniors next season and locking him away on a diet of raw meat and scrummaging sessions before unleashing him properly ready in 2 years.

3-0 lead, playing into the wind.

Good news so. Sounds like the lads are putting up a serious fight. Were under big pressure but slowly getting into it.

    French 4 off injured.

Another French guy hits the dust. Looks like one of the locks?

The bright side of being stuck at home with a sick baby is being able to watch the game.

    The not so bright side...

She keeps asking if every player is Sean O'Brien then singing Allez les Bleus! She's two.

French & English meat for the 1st year NZ & SA meat for year two. Get him hooked on the taste!

Jaysus that's odd isn't it? Hard Irish hits, bad luck or just wrecked bodies after a long tournament?

Henderson throwing a dummy - drops it near French line - if he had held on, he'd have been in I reckon.

    6-0

2 of them at least were awkward falls.

    French scrum really under pressure.

I think we have this one in the bag, you know.

Hmm, bad luck combined with tired bodies so I suppose. Body less able to deal with awkward falls after 4 hard games I'd imagine.

Another penalty won at the scrum. Shot at goal. Wide.

aertv.ie is another option if people are having issues with the tg4 player, however it seems a bit choppy as well

France shot from 5 metres inside own half, wind behind. MISSED.

France's first penalty attempt, on 42 minutes.

    6-0 half time.

6 - 0 at half time is not bad at all.
Now if they can just push on at the start of the second half and add to that it will be a long way back for the French.

France have looked dangerous when they move it to the backs, only for poor hands to let them down.

Think this one will be close.....................

Its been very scrappy but the conditions are bad. The wet and windy weather means the players are making a lot of mistakes. The Irish scrum is going very well but the lineouts are poor today.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,318 ✭✭✭Fishooks12

Our scrum is a real weapon. If those props can convert the bit of flab into muscle back home they'll be serious prospects

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,592 ✭✭✭GerM

Lets hope the rain continues to lash. Knock ons really playing into our hands by the sound of it.

    Thanks for updates folks.

I think we have this one in the bag, you know.

The Irish had the English in their pocket in the 1st half of their pool game. It's been a long tournament and they don't have huge depth.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,455 ✭✭✭✭Monty Burnz

    Another kickable penalty. 9-0

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,976 ✭✭✭profitius

Its still a close game. France had more territory and if they play a little smarter they could start turning that into points. Having said that it looks like Ireland might have the wind advantage for the second half.

    9 -0

stole lineout, good break upfield, french offside 30 yards out in the middle, Pen.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,455 ✭✭✭✭Monty Burnz

~Great break from Conan. Should have scored something from that - broke from scrum and ran 40 odd metres.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Missed the first half. How are we doing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Should the pen be where the ball lands?

EDIT: Duh, I missed my sleep, disregard stupid post. :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 395 ✭✭Beery Eyed

Seriously impressed with Conan all tournament. Ireland should have finished from that break though. A very sloppy pass in the midfield slowed it all down when better accuracy would have put the French under real pressure.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,455 ✭✭✭✭Monty Burnz

Splintered another French scrum there but they got the ball out.
