Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It's not - there's an mma event on in Japan you can stream later or you can see a live event just off the M50 featuring one of the best fighters in Europe .... Your call mate...

Cheers for the invite except just off the m50 isint an option for me this evening as much as I'd like it to be. Some of last season was streamed and I know this has a good few fighters from outside Ireland so expecting a stream isint a lot

No word of a stream. I remember at one of the last events that they said that they were having problems getting the planned stream going. There's been no mention of one this time around, but it will be on Sky Sports a week or two after I think.

Great night of fights so far.

That last fight was a bad decision IMO. I thought hanney lost the first round but won the last 2. The crowd here agrees by the sounds of it.

It was a good show, with some entertaining fights and i enjoyed it. The order was changed with the main as the 4th last fight probably because it was being televised live in Iceland or something. Must have started late because i arrived past 8pm and im sure i seen all the fights!.

Gunner Nelson looks more of a folk singer than a fighter but he's some fighter, very intellegent fighter too. Id like to see him tested in a more even fight as there was something of an inevetible feel to it knowing he was 1/9fav.

Seemed well run and the womenz both hired and non hired were top drawer!.

it my was first cage contender event, and I have to say it was a really good night, good fights , lots of finishes and just good production all round, the fights were snappy enough with little time to wait between them,
good lighting and sound system and crowd was vocal and into it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,438 ✭✭✭✭El Guapo!

I have to just say, myself and my gf had a great night. At the after party now with JF and he is an absolute gentleman. He sorted me out with tickets and made us feel very welcome. Great night and I'd recommend it to all. Cheers everyone involved

You know, the last two weeks I've been having a mental time in paradise but honestly, I wish I could be there tonight!! So homesick looking at the pics. John Ferguson brings the best show in town...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,707 ✭✭✭pablohoney87

Gotta say, absolute crackin night. From the first fight to the after party to the cringe worthy attempts of the lads tryin their luck in mcDonalds afterwards (you know who you were)
only gripe is gunnar really needs to be fighting in the ufc or at least for cage warriors in a title match. All i reckon is holding him back is the fact he's from Iceland and not America.

Excellent event, a very humbling night for me too as I had a few people come up and ask if I was Andrew McGahon and that they enjoyed my interview with John on Friday. That was very cool.

An honor to get to interview Gunnar Nelson, the man is an absolute class act.

    http://soundcloud.com/sdtimeout/sets/cage-contender-interviews

4 interviews on that link and will have a few pieces up over the next couple of days. As usual thanks to John Ferguson for having me, Barry Oglesby for the tips and the fighters for giving me the time.

See you all on the 28th.
