There's lots of info on BBS on this forum already.

It's the only EPAS accredited course in Ireland.

A new Dean is about to be appointed in December so it'll be interesting to see what vision (s)he will set out for the next 5 years.

you can do a lot of things with a BBS degree, not just in business related fields. It's extremely broad, there's likely to be a job in 90% of companies for a BBS graduate.

Im on Erasmus right now, but when I come back I will be starting my BBS major (economics and finance) so I will probably do something in finance when I leave college.
Also a good thing about UL's BBS course is that their is a work placement in year three allowing students to gain work experience. I would imagine this would be looked favorably upon by potential employers.

Yes, the Business course is ideal, if your not sure what exactly you want to do because even when you specialise in your major in second year, you still get to do modules from different areas of business!

My major is Accounting and Finance and I spent my co-op in an insurance company, which I LOVED!! Now I don't think I want to do accounting when I'm finished next year, but since I have modules done in other areas I can still apply for a wide range of jobs!

So it's all good in the hood! Just hope I don't end up in the dole queue!! :)

As well, even though we're in the middle of a depression, everyone I know in my year got co-op in some shape or form and the year before, 88% got placement!!

Sorry to bump up this old thread but thinking of doing business in Ul but am fairly useless at maths! Is the maths content in first year really difficult or would it be manageable? thanks!

its manageable the majority of people will have done pass maths and get on grand (or so it seems in my year including myself) if you work at it you should pass but dont expect to do no work and get away with it. There is also plenty of help to avail of if you are struggling with maths!
