    Hi

I have had our philips 37" tv for about 18 months now and have always had an issue with the epg being out of sync. The time in the bottom right is correct but the time of the programs starting are out by one hour
eg utd match on tv3 on epg due to start at 18.30 not on till 19.30

I have updated the firmware I think the version was dated august 2010 (i think) I also have my tv set in uk region because I had problems tuning in channels

I was wondering if it's a rte issue or a philips issue...

    Hey Dylbag,

Hmmmm I have no quick answer for this but I'm gonna look into it for you.

Give me a wee bit of time and I'll try sort you out.

    Thanks, Nicola.

My understanding is that RTE do tick the box to enable auto summer time in their data stream.

You need to set the time in the TV manually if it supports that.

    Some do some don't.

    Nicola on behalf of Ash:

    Hey Dylbag,

OK I put this issue to tech support and they say that RTE broadcast the EPG and the EPG times so the problem cannot be rectified our end I'm afraid.

I've copied the conversation below for you:

Welcome to Philips Chat, you're chatting with Jason. How may I help you?

Nicola: Hey Jason. I have a 37PFL5604 and am having a problem with the EPG time. The time on the bottom right of the screen is correct but all the programs are an hour out. EG - Match starting at 6.30 on EPG doesn’t start till 7.30 real time.

Jason: Hi Nicola, sorry to hear that

Jason: EPG information is sent out by freeview so in this instance I would recommend getting into contact with Digital UK

Jason: Would you like the link?

Nicola: I am using SAORVIEW in Ireland. But do you mean the problem is from the signal broadcast by the TV company themselves?

Jason: Yes the EPG information is provided by the Digital broadcasters

Nicola: OK thanks a mil Jason.

I'm guessing RTE haven’t compensated for daylight saving times. Hopefully when the clocks go back on 30th this month you'll be back in sync. Sorry again but there's nothing we can do from this end. :o

    Thanks a mil,

    Nicola.

Thanks for info - unfortunately I don't seem to be able to change the time...it has a manual or auto settings but doesn't allow me to actually change the time!

I managed to get it sorted - I changed the country to Germany and that seemed to do the trick it will be interesting to see what happens when clocks change - funny surely this could be sorted by philips?!

    Thanks for help
