Why would you want a serious smiley emot-crossarms.gif

I think maybe its because young Tedward has posted alot of,odd shall we say, threads in his boards life so maybe he wants it so that people can differentiate between genuine threads and maggot acting threads of his.

    You could perhaps resize this

    gary-coleman.jpg

and use it as your own personal mini smiley Tedward?

Change this little **** --> <-- to look straight ahead with a straight mouth (serious). Gets rid of this horrible annoying thing and makes a useful one instead.

If you can't deduce the meaning of a post from how it's written, who wrote it, and the context of the discussion, then you probably shouldn't be allowed to use the Internet unsupervised...

A serious "smiley" before a Picard facepalm "smiley"?

People need to get their priorities right. :pac:

Mods can have custom avatars so you can update yours if you want

Though I do agree the standard avatars could do with an overhaul

Does not using a smiley automatically make the post serious?!

I'm not pushed to change it but for some reason I went looking at the avatars recently and at this stage the stock ones are getting to be as old as some of the new posters

    really?

Id suggest that mods are kept pretty busy because in the majority of cases, folk take something that has been said and interpret it differently to how the original poster intended

one person thinks he is being funny or clever, and someone else thinks its innappropriate or serious

smileys help people to judge if a post is tongue in cheek or not, its not the only clue but it can be a good one
