Help upgrading graphics card

I recently bought a Radeon HD 6770 graphics card but unfortunately it won't fit into my Dell XPS 210 (the hard drive is blocking the fan etc....if it had the space I am fairly sure it would fit into the PCIe x16 slot). However, I was wondering if I could use this PCI Express x16 Flexible Riser and keep the graphics card outside the machine and put it in a non-conductive casing/ material that prevents dust but allows for airflow.
This is my old graphics card, and I have a feeling that I should be using something like it, but I would like the new card to work in this PC.

If you need specs of anything else just tell me.
    Thanks!
