Unfortunately, I don't really have time to be commish and organise the draft. Eagle eye said he might. Anyone else want to do it?

I'm seeing 10 back in, can you please add your team names beside your username so I know who is gone please. If we get another person looking to get in then I'll add that person and DM_2092. That'll have to happen fast though or it won't work. Alternatively if you know the usernames on here of those not back then send them a pm or put the names up here and I'll send them a pm to see if they are coming back.

Ok lads, if we want to get this thing up and running we need people to vote on a draft time. Only myself, billr67 and Serenity Now have voted from what I'm seening to this point.

Also need the team names to get rid of those not coming back. It's pretty urgent at this point. Need to set up a draft date and not have inactive teams.

Sorry I won't be joining that. I'm fed up of social media. I have WhatsApp for my kids activities like gaa etc. but I hate it. I don't use Facebook or any of those type of things anymore.

No worries. Just sometimes it is quicker to get things done and to be honest, this thread is dead after the draft. I was hoping if we had a messaging app then it would get people chatting. I would happily have it on whatsapp either but I think you would need to exchange numbers then.

Unfortunately we can't have the draft tonight. Of Wong doesn't turn up before midnight I'll kick him out too and invite the guy that's looking to join.

That'll happen tomorrow early if I can do anything about it and I'll pick the most popular date and time left for the draft.

I'm not sure how many keepers you must have. Does anybody know for sure. I knew it's definitely two if not more.

Can everybody make sure they have keepers selected. I don't want to be going editing rosters after the draft. Thanks.

Only a few teams have selected Keepers so far, in case people need reminding you can only do that on the website. I think eagle eye is correct you have to keep at least two and up to eight if you want. Nobody should be selecting in the first two rounds so the draft really begins in round 3. Should we decide on rules for next year? This year was a bit of a disaster with the draft.

Yeah, lets make the rules now and have them here.

I think we should reduce the number of keepers from 8 to 6, as 8 keepers across all teams is only to the benefit of the strongest rosters - makes it very hard for someone to close the gap.

If we're going to institute a minimum number of keepers, I think it should be 2 not 4. Again forcing someone to keep 4 players is a lot if they need to make several changes to their starting lineups over one offseason.

Yeah I think especially with the last draft where some people kept zero players. It really hamstrung others that kept the four? we were meant to keep.

I'm personally against dropping the number of keepers allowed. Don't see why certain players should be punished just because they have strong rosters...

I kinda feel the same but this season the draft was all over the place with some people going by the rules and some people not.

I think 8 is excessive, its basically allowing you to keep all the starting skill players and a backup.

Weaker teams need to have an opportunity to close the gap against the strongest teams, otherwise the league gets boring.

Keeping 6 still allows you to hold onto the core group of starters in your roster.

Cheers lads, just got a bit of luck at the right time of the year! Personally think the number of keeper should probably be 4/5 as gives new members chance to close the gap! Enjoy the playoffs!
