rad trouble

a few of the rads down stairs in my house heat up at the top and sides but the bottoms stay cold. tried bleeding. no good. (gas boiler system) any ideas? :(

Try my tip on the thread above, and if no joy you'll be taking the rads off to wash them out or get a powerflush done.

Might be worth re-balancing them before you remove them, although it does sound like sludge. How old are the rads?
