Tried installing a new MAME.bin but I didn't see any Cave emulation improvement, I may be looking at a new PC for the whole damn thing, we shall see.
Sadly, such money is also demanded by a dozen other matters!

If your looking for a new pc for emulation etc i can help ya out. I've a a selection of decent machines if you fancied a trade of some sort. Proper modern quad core i5 jobs etc, no nasty pentiums :0)

So I decided to make a bit of a mess last night as you can see here:

    http://i.imgur.com/t7MVeNZ.jpg

Which yielded in a few new holes to thread cables through. (I also had to drill a counter sync hole so that the ethernet keystone would fit properly).

Turn it around and what do we have here?

Think I posted images last week of me spray painting this black.

Anyway here she is in all her glory:

    http://i.imgur.com/b3QoANS.jpg

Try not to mind the dirt and dust on the back panel as I had yet to wipe it all down before taking that picture.

Here's the ill though out mistake that she'll be replacing:

Much happier with how it looks now. All that's left to do is fill up the older holes with wood filler (which I had started to do in this of these pictures, hence the masking tape and cardboard).

Then respraying where the older holes used to be.

When I get paid again I'll be purchasing two USB-A Male to Male cables so that I can get it all hooked up properly.

Not sure, just thought I'd mention it in case you were interested.
Save you spending money on a machine just for MAME/Hyperspin.

awesome! How sort of setup do you need to do that. Many games support this?

you need 2 neogeo mobo and 2 carts for the game.
I think theres only 4 that support it.

    League bowling
    hard drivin a motorbike game.
    a fighting game
    and ????

You cab have 4 cabs with league bowing so 8 players!

Excellent stuff, I cant believe I never knew about this.

Was wondering why one of my carts had a headphone type jack on it. i think it's Over Top?

I had tried this before but I didnt have the paperwork and counldnt get it going.
I then had to sell the second neogeo mobo I had then the instructions showed up!
I figured out the dip settings are still wrong in the drawing too!

looks like you have to get another mobo and OverTop cart Oisin!
I never heard of overtop.Looks like Driftout!

Ahh, it's Thrash Rally which I'm thinking of, not Over Top.

Another game which is similar to (but not as good!) as Neo Drift Out.

Really would love to give this a go. Should be able to get it going with a Supergun and a cab.

    Some small bartop progress.

    Holes filled and sanded:

    AAAAAnnndddd after respraying:

It's not perfect but it's better than having holes that have absolutely no purpose.

    Other NeoGeo carts with funky interfaces on the carts;
    http://www.excellentcom.net/detail.asp?catid=48138&subcatid=46633&pdtid=735188

Horse racing one, with a connector for what I'm guessing is the model horses on a track display unit or another funky cab setup

I was just looking at that cart!
Did you get an email from them today?

according to negeo.com that cable connects to a hopper to payout!

Boot up a CPS2 game in MAME like Alien Versus Predator and then go to the dip menu. You'll find lots of calibration options in there :)

Be curious to see some photos of your screen geometry cidey. A cross hatch pattern.

Yeah seen it popup now and again on shmups. Not sure what the RRP is/was but it's usually priced over a ton iirc. Presumably the game is ok as far as it can be on a DS.

Must fire it up on the R4 and give it a go. Seems that it's a boss rush rather than a straight conversion.

I had to do some more arcade cab dis-assembly this evening for the big move. Broke my heart having to pull out that multi pcb setup. Took me feckin ages to get it set up properly!

Fingers crossed now everything goes to plan and both cabs power up on the other end. Will do my best not to drop the Pony this time....

Feck, those will be a nervy few hours/days! You paying for movers or able to get family/friends to do it? Not sure I would trust movers with the cabs if it was me.
