Nice one! Thanks mate. That'd be awfully sound of you. I'll be around this Saturday.

I'd love to grab ESPgaluda for a bit but I still haven't gotten off my arse and fixed the Pony yet, so wouldn't have anything to play it on!

Actually you know what, I'm off work today, I think it's time to finally take that chassis out and post it off to Grant. I miss Ibara :(

Excellent! sure feel free to hang onto it for a while if you get it working.

In other news, check this out, I didn't kill myself :pac:

All done. Damn was that awkward. Lucky the monitor is tated so the anode cap is kind of accessible. If it was horizontal I don't know how the hell you'd get to it :o

    Oooh that'd be great!

If I remember correctly, it's the big chip under the two game eproms.

Isn't that just the Motorola 68000 CPU under the eproms 07/08?

I've made some mockups off colour schemes for the icade CP, on my ipad hence the ugly white borders.

Im leaning towards the white and orange buttons more.

    What do people prefer?

I like the idea of having a colourful CP over having plain colours.

Gotta have the Rasta look mon!

Have to say the RYGB we are familiar with from snes and xbox controllers looks well too....

Im a green and red button fan.

Depends on the rest of the colour scheme to be honest.

Question about the market place, should we have a what its worth thread, as in common sense so we could price things accordingly? Obv with no PM with offers? I need to clear out a few bits as its more of a hoard now but would like to pass them on in this direction. I have no idea how to price stuff without checking ebay and stuff which is not really fair or exact.

I think I suggested this a long time ago but there was some reason it was a no go, can't remember. It seems to work very well over on AO though and as long as the seller resists the inevitable PM's and said items do actually appear on the marketplace, then it's all good no?

J+ have a valuations forum but are pretty strict about making offers there or via pm.

They have a tiered warning system though.

Luke Morse's latest video takes us on a tour of an arcade in Japan. Serious amount of machines.

Naomi cabs look really cool IMO, other than that dondeal ad posted a week or so ago, are they hard to come by \ expensive?

They shouldn't be more than 400 imo.
Altho I'm pretty sure I spent more on the one I had bit it had a mobo etc with it.
They are absolutely massive once you get them into your house tho. And insanely heavy.
I'd like another someday. Maybe the new net tho. Nnc are big money tho.
Saftyboy has an absolutely lovely example!

Yeah naomis are really nice machines, they strip down handy aswell if needed. They are absolute beasts aswell so make sure ya have the space

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,076 ✭✭✭safetyboy

New net citys are the cats pyjamas, lovely screen, and you can hook the xbox 360 up too for all that cave goodness.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,254 ✭✭✭KeRbDoG

I'm having to clear out a storage space I have and have a Naomi to shift. If there is a want, I can throw it up on the marketplace when I get around to getting it presentable. Nice project for someone

Value always comes down to condition, a crappy one with a hacked control panel, burn marks all over with no Naomi board and a borked screen maybe then yea 400 but one with a Net Dimm, good screen, no burn marks etc. would be worth a bit more.

Has anyone ordered from Akihabara shop this year?

Just wondering how long it takes before they ship the order.

I've been reading on other forums that it can take a month for them to process the order!

Looks like ill be waiting longer than I expected!

I think that’s where I got the mesh balls for my Egret 3. If I remember correctly I was a bit surprised at the speedy delivery, but that was ages ago so I might be mixing it up with another order.

They sell the mesh balls alright.

In fairness their selection is amazing, its like being in an arcade porn shop!

So many variations of each joystick, i was mad nerding up on what all the different codes meant.

Whenever I’m buying arcade bits and pieces I nearly always get way more than I need. Extra ball tops, wiring, buttons, sticks etc.
It seems like madness until you actually need a few buttons or whatever for a little project, and then don’t need to order them in :)
