I was in Doncaster with work a month ago. Redemption machines make me sick.

Cant find the pic of the shameful thing they did with Pacman. £1 one life.

    Here's someone elses video :

They also had this beauty. Image via Google.

I couldn't bring myself to taking a photo of the actual one.

All the ones in the Arcade in Newcastle were Jurassic Park ones.
They looked a lot cooler than this!

They also have a Simpsons kooky carnival,
Its a coin rolling game built by Stern pinball.

Looks like it shares a few similar playfield pieces to Simpsons Pinball Party.

At the start of reading that post I was convinced it was going to be a scam of some sort!

Nice win on the change though.

After finding £50 in change it cost him £20 + Delivery. Brilliant.

    Hi,

As I mentioned in my post about character voices I made a new arcade system PCB.

The specification can be found here: http://rosenborg.homelinux.org/WP/?p=158

    In short:

    JAMMA, 15kHz.

320x240, 255 colors + transparancy selected from 24bit RGB can be shown on screen.

Three layers (512x512) that can be individually moved and shown on part of the screen.

27 sprites, 128 shapes in video ram (or 256 if you only need two background layers). Can be placed between/in front of any background layers.

8-bit sound, 44kHz. Sounds are mixed and you can set volume, speed etc. I don't know the limit, but I've played more than 25 sounds at the same time.

Controlled using SPI (currently 20MHz, but I will try to increase it, even if it seems to do fine). HW is made to fit Raspberry Pi 2, but you can use any controller having an 3.3V SPI port and enough I/O's for the controls.

Evolving API written in C++ that handles graphics, colors, fonts, sprites, sound.... You get the source to the API, so you are free to adapt it to another platform or add functionality.

I have few boards, but if there are any developers wanting to try it out... Let me know.

A small demo can be found here (made by a friend of mine), unfortunately in Swedish: http://rosenborg.homelinux.org/WP/?p=173 Never mind the simple graphics, I'm not good with pixels.

Been meaning to lash a new LS32 in the SNK cab for ages. Finally decided to do it this afternoon. Completely forgot these CPs dont use mounting plates and you've to mount the sticks directly to the CP. Which means taking that overlay off...which then means popping all the buttons out

Managed to bend the metal overlay up enough to get the screws out without having to remove all the buttons, thank feck, I'd have been there all afternoon otherwise.

The white balltops and the chrome shafts really match the chrome CP and the white cab I think. Looks super clean.

You know you spend too long on boards when people start wondering if you're dead when your post count drops :pac:

I watch all his pin videos, he gives some good tips.

He usually talks about known issues with pins which is handy if you own any hes talking about
