    Quick question,
Aside from Ronnie, what are the best places to go shopping for a Candy?
I see Ronnie himself has an Astro and a Exceleena 2 up.
How often does he get new deliveries in?
Or is it a case of watching and hoping?

    I'd email him,
he has more.I know he has New Net Cities
Not sure how often he gets stuff in

    I've emailed him.
He has an Astrocity but reports that theirs some burn in on-screen.
Would this be typically the case in a cab of this vintage?
Or would I be better waiting for a better example?
From looking about the machine is priced pretty keenly.
Pity there aren't any examples for sale in Ireland, as I've access to a man with a van!

It's definitely possible to get cabs with no burn. Both mine are a good bit older than an Astro and they've no burn at all.

If you want an Astro, maybe just ask him to send you an email when one with no burn in on the screen comes available.

Astros are nice, but they're a bit of a pain to get into your house as you can't easily remove the control panel. Is that definitely what you're after yeah?

I wouldn't touch a machine with screen burn in. It depends on the person but it would drive me feckin mental.

Pretty much. It would be a 'cannot be unseen' thing with me too. If you're going to spend that much money on a cab, there shouldn't be any unfixable monitor issues like that at all.

Image burn would annoy me too but then again I have a big enough curl in gemoetry in one corner of my image and I've learnt to put up with it.

At the very least expect a step down converter from Ronnie for nowt.

Ive got light burn on both my machines,
on the blast its a football pitch radar in the bottom middle and cant make out what it is on the e2.
Only noticeable on a full white screen.
it must be bad if hes pointing it out tho.

    on another note,
I seen this post on one of the Irish motorbike forums I frequent

    Bike/general transport
I came across this Guy by complete Mistake , in Fact he was doing
work and Delivering to me .
Since then i have used him , to pick up , Engines , ride on lawn mower ,
Bikes , and Just today , he delivered a Load of Car parts to me from
    Swansea.
He is a One man operation and can only handle so much , but i have never
waited more than a fortnight ..

This is one of the Good Guys , Based in Korean
Primarily Pick up in UK delivering to N.Ireland. But can do all Ireland
    pick up deliveries ..

    His Name is Russ ,,, 0044 798 154 5952 .

No Connection to me other than a Satisfied customer ,
Just trying to give one of the good Guys a wee Boost.
The picture will give you an Idea of the Size of load he can take.

My astro from ronnie was stated as having minor burn
Its a small logo..again it can only be seen on pure white which is never really(attract screens really)
Doesn't bother me in the slightest.
His Astros are cheap...but if you factor in a 2p CP,tri-sync monitor and delivery it was still around a grand

It works out quite well tbh.
If I buy the one he has up it'll come out at about €650 or so, I already have a beefy stepdown and the 1p CP doesn't bother me too much, to begin with anyway.
I can upgrade to a 2 player CP later on.
Right now I'll be the only one playing it....

    Time for this again...

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,206 ✭✭✭unky chop chop

    Tis a great deal..that's 650 delivered?
Get him to send you pics of screnburn,if it ain't bad and u cThat's ve with it I'd jump on that offer.
Thats with 15k monitor? Even if you want an upgrade you can get chassis of Jeff in digital systems yourself.that's where he got mine before he fitted it.

Am I reading this right? Ronnie needed a chassis which he got from Jeff? Dafaq?

That electroluminescent panel I got to backlight the arcade artwork came with the wrong PSU and thats why it was a bit crappy and not bright looking at all. So they are posting me the proper PSU today :)

Excellent! Looking forward to seeing the results.

For some reason my airlink transformer has stopped the marquee light coming on again. So it looks like it wasn't the wall socket but the step down afterall.

You need to get a step up to your step down.

Delivery has jumped to €225, which pushes the price to 725 for an Astro with a single player CP and some screen burn of unknown quantity.

Might just wait a while, see what else comes along.... unless Steve passes on PurpleC's machine.... then I'm in like Flynn!
