    Anyone got any opinions?
    1GHZ Samsung CPU looks promising..
Good description so I know what it does & how it will work.

    Looks really interesting

    I'm intrigued by the
"Full HD 1080P hardware video decoder"
The 1GHz main processor probably isn't relevant its the GPU that would be used. The Eth and Wifi isn't specified exactly either.
I usually go youtubing for things like this to see what sort of quality you get - no hits for this that I could see

Does anyone here already own an Android 2.2 Apps Internet Box Google HD Internet TV thing?

Make sure you get a review of this device from someone who has one before even considering buying. There are lots of very poor quality Android tablets and media devices available that aren't really supported at all, no updates, no official market etc. Lots of Android 2.2 apps will not support the resolution of your TV screen.

Personally, I'd avoid and spend a little more money and get something that is supported like a Boxee Box or the new Google TV2 being released soon.

    Here's a Revue for approx €150: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/NEW-Logitech-Revue-Companion-Box-Google-TV-Keyboard-/270842860001?pt=PCC_Drives_Storage_Internal&hash=item3f0f7e11e1#ht_1778wt_952

Only problem is you might be hit with customs charges.

Will it be possible to update the revue to Google TV2 or should one wait for new devices to come out?

Yes, the Revue is getting the update next week. From what I read of reports of the Revue it was horrible with Google TV1, slow and clunky, best wait till next week to see if it improves.

    Got mine yesterday,very happy!

    Looks classy ,

the front panel consists of two USB slots and a power indication LED. The microSD slot resides on the side of the player, while the back panel consists of an HDMI slot, an Ethernet slot, a power port & a USB slot.

The player runs on a 1GHZ Samsung Cortex CPU and has a DDR2 512MB RAM with 8GB Flash memory. Android 2.2 . Cost 115 usd (eBay - free shipping).
Got lucky this time - paid no custom fees ( marked as 29 usd value gift)

Runs very smooth , youtube , web browsing, Gmail , etc.

Original remote is rubbish. I bought advanced keyboard-pointer (30 usd extra)
This works fine (7-8m distance no problems, sharp and sensitive)

Personally I'm very happy - "It does exactly what it says on the tin"

Anyone have the silverlight plug in running on an android tv box?

The FIL is looking for something for a streaming tv service in Sweden, it runs in a browser with silverlight or there is an android app available but as it is intended for viewing the stream on an android phone will it work on the tv box?

Silverlight its proprietary Microsoft software, similar to flash, you will only find it on Windows PCs and Xboxes

If you google "silverlight for android" you will see that there is a 3rd party plug in available, just wondering if anyone has any feedback on how good it is.

    Try Slingbox for streaming

    http://uk.slingbox.com/go/home

It might cost a buck more, but you're in for much less mess.

Slingbox for a father in law in sweden ? Where is the slingbox gonna go ? Not really answering posters question IMO as it is not a streaming service - more of a re-direct service of your TV channels from home ( sky/upc/other ) which you can access when you are away; great for work abroad / hols - as long as the family at home dont mind you changing the channel that they are watching.......

Something like this might be a better fit

    Thanks dodzy

It's a specific service called Viaplay that he wants to view as it offers a service similar to Sky sports streamed over the net.

We bought him a Samsung "smart hub" Blu ray player at Christmas in the mistaken belief that the Viaplay app would be on it, but sadly not, it's only on some of the Samsung TVs at the moment.

Anyway since posting the question they have started to roll out apps for more devices and it seems like the Blu ray player he has will be supported within a few months.

If not, then I'll take another look at the Android TV box in a few months.

None of those Google boxes look great to me. Surely you would be better plugging your Android phone into your TV via HDMI and using your TV remote to control?

Here's a good review, the Boxee Box despite its few issues comes out on top as having the most features overall
