Well you'd be wrong. They're action adventure games.

If it makes you feel better, fair enough.

Can't really say I give much of shit what genre people think it falls into, I'll still just call it an RPG.

Isn't it all just sequels nowdays anyways?

    It's always been that way.

Just watched the OXM Report on this through Xbox Live. They never mentioned the fighting games, or a bunch of others in it though

I don't feel one way or the other. It's the correct category. Feel free to keep calling the Zelda series RPGs but you'd be about as correct as someone going around claiming Brittany Spears is a heavy metal singer.

Just because it's got an overhead view doesn't make it an RPG. You gain abilities that enable you to open up more of the map, just like metroid and you wouldn't call metroid an RPG. There's no stat or character building which is what defines an RPG. The exception is Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link. The stat and character building is what seperates something like Secret of Mana from Zelda.

Well with so many games having RPG elements these days the line is getting blurred quite a bit. Something like the multiplayer of MW2 could definitely fit the bill of an RPG. The way I categorise it is like the difference between porn and art, you know it when you see it and zelda definitely isn't an RPG.
