Really lashing it down in Dublin 2 and very dark, are we going to see the same chaos as yesterday? If so I might need to think about allowing people to head home a bit earlier....

Not going to last long enough to make things much worse, should be over in an hour or two.

This guy could have easily become a candidate for a Darwin award!

How can you film something like this and then decide to take a lift down to the basement? He should be charged for the repair of the lift car at the very least!

I cant see the video as im in work but there is a stream that runs right along the N81 (The bolbrook I think its called) so I'd say thats what flooded it as it probably backed up as the dodder was in flood further down

Cloud cover thinning out here in Lucan Village, even a bit of sun trying to break through, this adds up with the radar pic at the moment showing the last of the rain clearing north out of Dublin central right about now.

Ya but they totally messed up yesterday's forecast.

We got WAY more rain than was forecast.

Pretty disgraceful and considering the damage, including lives, Met Eireann should be aplogising and explaining how they got in so wrong AGAIN<.

In fairness met eireann said on sat a months rain will fall in 24 hrs and it did.

Not sure what more you expect from them. Maybe look at your local council instead.

Took me 50 minutes to get from Tullow to the M9 this morning, Slaney is out of its banks all over the place. After two attempts and two lengthy diversions, gave up and went home to swap my Passat for OH's Vitara, only to find that some good samaritan () had decided to pull their van across the main road out of town to stop anyone trying to pass, regardless of what they're driving. Had to drive halfway into Carlow, come back out onto the Killerig road and go on to the motorway from there.

Sun struggling to come out here in Liffey Valley now.

Yeah, I saw severe weather warnings, and possibility of a months rain all predicted.

Local Council? So they forecast now do they?

Yes Met Eireann forecasted rain but nowhere near this amount.

They got it wrong. I would consider it negligent if a national forecaster who we pay can get the amount wrong by so much.

I don't think you understand the damage that was caused and Met Eireann only forecasted a third of the rainfall.

Not forecasting the other two thirds is absolutely disgraceful.

Just announced on the radio that there was a body found of a woman in a flooded basement in Dublin somewhere. The body was found as the water was being pumped out. :(
